Breakfast - Cereal and toast. Wed., Sept. 23 - Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with country gravy, green beans, roll.Breakfast - Pizza. Garfield fundraiser GARFIELD - Garfield Elementary School will be holding a chili supper fundraiser Friday, Oct. 2 beginning at 5:30 at the NEBCO Community Room. Tickets are $5 each for anyone 5 and older. Entertainment will be provided by the Shady Grove Bluegrass and raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each or 6 for $5. Drinks for music Students at Pea Ridge Primary School will have new musical instruments thanks to Sonic.

Trap shooting team scored at nationals

The Southwest Trap team, of Washburn, Mo., traveled to the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, Ill., to compete Aug. 8 and 9 at the National Trapshooting Championship. The High School and Junior High teams joined approximately 900 other shooters from across the nation to compete in this event.

McBryde graduates Ingria Jill McBryde, a 2004 Pea Ridge High School graduate and daughter of Debbie McBryde, earned a Health Science degree at the University of Central Arkansas in May. Next year, she will begin graduate studies in North Carolina to complete her masters in Physical Therapy. After Prom party Member of the After Prom Committee are preparing for the celebration after the Junior-Senior Prom for this year's event, which is planned as a casino night. One of 23 schools selected of the 244 school districts in Arkansas, Pea Ridge High School has been honored to be a part of the Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Advanced Placement, a program which will help prepare students for college, according to Tommy Sue Anthony, director of the program.

PRHS honored as AAIMS school

Pea Ridge was honored and graciously accepted the AAIMS Flag (Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Advanced Placement) in a brief ceremony at Pea ridge High School Friday afternoon. Mayor Jackie Crabtree, School Board president Jenny Wood, State Representative Donna Hutchinson, superintendent Mike Van Dyke, lead math and science teacher David Wentz and the director of Arkansas AAIMS Tommy Sue Anthony were present. Pea Ridge High School was selected in March to become an AAIMS school.

Local youth shine at state 4-H O'Rama

Two 4-H members from Pea Ridge were honored at the recent state 4-H O'Rama. Sarah Connolly from Battlefield 4-H Club was was elected as the 2009-2010 Arkansas 4-H president and Billy Meyers of Apple Spur 4-H received an all-expense paid trip to the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta.
